Continuing my literary-historical-geographical
journey I have arrived at Myrkvidr=literally "mirkwood".
It is a topical name so it could be used for any "dark"
thicket or forest. Much and Schuette connected it to
Erzgebirge/Sudety/Miriquidui. Rosenfeld connected it to
the Carpathians.
"...the forest called Myrkvidr, which
divided the Hunaland from the [Reidh] gotaland."
"...skog than, er Myrkvidr heitir,
er skilr Hunaland ok Gotaland."
