RLK take an interest in runetexts in south Scandinavia
that could have a connection with the Goths and Eruli:
Vemmenhoeg, Scania, on bone:
"Jag herulen heter Sawilagar"
Jaersberg close to Lake Vaenern in southeastern
Vaermland Province: 6th Century AD
"Jag herulen heter Leubar..."
The Kylverstone, Staanga, Gotland, 5th Century AD
The oldest known rune futhark in south Scandinavia.
The Blekinge runestones of Istaby, Bjoerketorp, Soelvesborg
Grumpan, Vaestergoetland
A brakteat wil the older futhark
The Roek runestone, Oestergoetland
Tanum, Bohuslaen Province
"prawijan haitinaR was"
Hoegby, Oestergoetland
Sjonhem, Gotland
Frugaarden, Aasarp, Vaestergoetland (the Olsbro runestone)
The storm of the Huns destroyed the Regnum Ostrogotorum
in ca 380 AD, a regnum which could have reached as far as
south Scandinavia. The Huns and the chaos of their aftermath
may well have brought Eruli and Goths north to the shores
of the Baltic Sea. They might have brought along allies.
