Dear Roel,

Note that the connecting vowel for i-stems is not -a- but -i-: cf. gastigoths, naudibandi. O-stems do indeed take -a-: cf. airthakunds, hleithrastakeins.

 Audamunds

Although these are the rules as described in Braune's grammar book, the knowledge of Proto-Germanic wasn't as good as it is now, and I see more reconstructions which follow the proto-germanic like Hrothiland, so I would say, no, but in some cases this system is to be applied.

So, for example, "hamstring" would be "hamaráips", even though the first element is from PG *"hamo^"?
