We are pleased to announce the symposium "Challenging Identities: Between Human and AI Settings", which will take place on 20 October 2026 at the University of Basilicata (Potenza, Italy).

Organised by the Department for Humanistic, Scientific and Social Innovation (DIUSS) in collaboration with the I-LanD Research Centre, the event will bring together scholars from a range of disciplinary backgrounds, including philosophy, literature, linguistics, sociology, and history, to reflect on the challenges that interactions between human and artificial settings pose to identity, knowledge, and communication. The symposium will provide an opportunity to explore theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches to the study of human-AI interactions and to foster interdisciplinary research collaborations. Topics addressed throughout the day will include culture and society, identity and discourse, language mediation and learning, and artificial intelligence and literature.

The event is open to academics, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral researchers, and students working in linguistic, literary, historical, philosophical, and sociological fields.
