For the Wyandotte or other similar projects, one possible source of
funding is NEH (http://www.neh.gov/grants/grants.html). Aside from
the endangered languages documentation initiative that they're doing
with NSF, their Reference Materials programs regularly support work
on dictionaries of Native languages. Taking old unpublished materials
and turning them into a usable, published dictionary is just the kind
of project they like.
