For some additional food for thought, a very interesting article appeared in
Carsten Peust's Goettinger Beitraege zur Sprachwissenschaft, Heft 1, 1998,
entitled: Traces of an Early Indo-European Language in Southern Mesopotamia,
written by Gordon Whittaker.
Although I do not "buy" its premise, I think many of you might find it
stimulating.
