           Assistant Professor of Spanish
           University of Houston-Downtown

    Assistant Professor of Spanish, tenure track, Ph.D. by
August 1999 or hired as instructor until Ph.D. completed
(December 1999 deadline). Four courses/semester, primarily
in elementary and intermediate Spanish plus some upper
level courses: linguistics for bilingual ed. majors, and
advanced grammar and composition. Possibility of teaching
culture and/or literature courses. Committee
responsibilities also. Teaching experience and commitment
to scholarship required. Salary: $33,000-35,000/9 mos.
