               ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPANISH
            (Tenure track, to begin Fall, 2000)
    Ph.D. required. Specialization in Applied Lingustics,
Foreign Language Methodology and/or Instructional
Technology. Native or near native fluency in Spanish and
demonstrated excellence in language teaching. Beginning,
intermediate and advanced language courses and courses
in language teaching methodology for a dynamic
undergraduate program. Coordination of language courses,
participation in planning for the development of a
multi-media language learning center, and work with public
schools on professional development of language teachers.

    Rutgers-Newark is an AAU research university, located
twenty minutes from Manhattan.  The campus has a large
immigrant population and is ranked the most diverse in the
nation by U.S. News and World Report. We seek someone
eager to develop heritage language study. Send CV and
