GULLP 1st Issue & 2nd Call for Papers

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Georgetown University is pleased
to present the first issue of the online GULLP journal (Georgetown
University Luso-Hispanic Linguistics Papers) at:
http://www8.georgetown.edu/departments/spanport/GULLP/index.cfm

We would also like to announce the second Call for Papers of this journal
and invite students coming from all areas of specialization in Luso-Hispanic
Linguistics to participate.

The aim of GULLP is to serve as a meeting point for graduate students,
providing them with an annual publication where their working papers can be
given feedback from peers, as well as from senior researchers, and serve as
a yearly electronic venue to make their research public.

The paper submission deadline will be February 23rd, 2007. Your proposal
should describe original, unpublished work that may be in progress.

Authors are limited to a maximum of one individual and one joint submission
(papers co-authored with faculty will not be accepted). Submit your paper as
a WORD file (i.e., " surname ".DOC or " surname ".RTF) to
gullp at georgetown.edu with 'paper submission' in the subject field. The paper
should be anonymously submitted and abide by the following > specifications:
(see Style Sheet). Include your name(s), title of the paper, affiliation(s)
and contact information in the email body and  indicate what area of
linguistics your contribution fits in best:

Phonetics/Phonology, Foreign Language Acquisition, Syntax/Semantics,
Historical/Dialectology, or Sociolinguistics.

Notification of acceptance will be announced April 6th, 2007. Accepted
papers will be published in the 2nd  Georgetown University Luso-Hispanic
Linguistics Papers Electronic Journal.
