[Lexicog] Lacunae: word creation, reinterpretation and borrowing

Another question is whether these "lacunae" are perceived as such.
If they are, word creation, reinterpretation or borrowing are
usually strategies to fill these gaps.
A word on borrowing: in arabicized languages in West Africa
words from the domains of religion, scholarship/writing and commerce
were borrowed and integrated over centuries. When it comes to
fashion many languages borrow from French. Usually French has
borrowed from other languages far less than say English or German.
But now the whole computer language has been translated into French.

When it comes to translation, the fact that the Bible or parts of it
has been translated into more than 2000 languages, shows that
languages are creative enough to fill these "lacunae."
