Konni, from Northern Ghana, has probably fewer trees than the Carrier
territory. It doesn't distinguish "wood" and "stick" but it does have a
separate word for "tree."
Also of interest with those trees which bear some fruit is that the same
word is used for both the tree and fruit in citation form, but the definite
suffix and plural suffix, which are the indicators of noun class, indicate
that the fruit and tree are in different noun classes.

Carrier is the same way. There is no distinction between "tree", "wood",
and "stick". Carrier territory is heavily forested, so it isn't as
if they aren't familiar with trees.
