For Phil Cash,
I'm not sure what types of literature you will have to analyze and compare. One caution might be: take special care in studying any 'ritual-type' literature. Tuwali Ifugao (Philippines) has complex morphology (prefixes, infixes, suffixes and reduplications) and in ritual-literature, deities and spirits are addressed by names consisting of 'common' language roots and affixes. However, the affixes function to express chanting meter, rather than having meaning or syntactic function as they normally do in the 'normal' use of common language.
