[Lexicog] What is considered "meat"?

Wayne,

I did a worldview study on the language of bodybuilders and those who work
out
in health and fitness studios. A number of times I heard the funny
expression
comparing the fitness studio to a "meat market". What happened to the word
"meat" here? ;-) Must be a metonymy as a special kind of semantic extension.
