Dear Nicholas,
If you go to your database that has been set up for interlinear text and
look at database/properties/interlinear tab, you can choose the parse line
and then click on modify to get the Parse window of Toolbox, there is a box
called longerst affix override that can be unchecked. Here is what the help
files says about it.

Longest affix override

When enabled this option indicates that longer affix strings should
override shorter ones.

When this option is turned off, allows turning off the longest override so
that all possible combinations of affixes found in a word will be shown in
the ambiguity box. If "Longest affix override" is not set, and if "Balance
prefixes and suffixes is set", then the parser will try all combinations of
prefixes and suffixes.
Note that even if longest affix override is turned off, a longer root or
whole word will still override a parse that chops the root into pieces. For
this reason, it may be necessary to force an ambiguity by including an
alternate and underlying pair that show that a whole root can also be
parsed as a combination of pieces.

If you turn off longest override, the number of ambiguities may increase
greatly. It is recommended that you use word formulas to reduce the number
of ambiguities.

I hope this will be of help to you although you notice that it will greatly
increase your choices everywhere. The other approach is to say put an
underlying form under these parts to say that they can be composed of
smaller pieces. See other examples in the interlinear help file.

Apologies if this has already been dealt with, but is there a way of
making Shoebox/Toolbox parse a minimal rather than a maximal unit? A
colleague has a problem with parsing a Papuan language in which a
form, e.g. geneba can be parsed maximally as gen-eba, but the actual
parse is ge-n-e-ba. This is highly productive in the language and
could be dealt with by inserting hyphens in the text, but I hope
there is a more elegant solution.
