Well, I have to admit that I have not read Bill Ladusaw's article. All
Linguistics in the Morning Calm volumes are like the tooth fairy. I keep
hearing about them, but I have never actually seen one. I will try to
locate a copy and auto-didact myself. 

I interpreted -stratal as in some interpretations of that notion for
Relational Grammar, where it was sufficiently vague in many cases as to
warrant conflation with -level. 

But I stand corrected with my ignorance revealed.
