The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Florida 
invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of 
World Languages to be filled at the rank of Full Professor effective 
August 2006. Qualifications: Tenured full professor at current 
institution with a minimum of 2-3 years of appropriate administrative 
experience, proven excellence in teaching, an active ongoing research 
agenda, a strong commitment to undergraduate education, 
interdisciplinary interests, and strong interpersonal and 
communication skills.  Area of language/literature specialization 
open. The Department of World Languages is a small but dynamic 
department offering the B.A. in Spanish, minors in French and 
Spanish, and an expanding array of offerings in additional languages 
(currently German, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, and Latin) in the 
setting of a growing public university. The department works 
cooperatively with other departments and programs. The chair has a 
twelve-month contract and normally teaches one class a semester.
