National Policy For Muslim Minority Demanded

Sunday, 19 August 2007

Hyderabad, August 19: The All India Urdu Educational Committee
(AIUEC) on Sunday urged the Central government to formulate a National
Policy for reservation of minorities especially Muslims. In a
statement released here, AIUEC Chairman, Mohd. Jaleel Pasha said that
the executive meeting of their body discussed the important problems
of Urdu education, language, and literature in the country. He also
requested the govt. to declare November 11 as National Education Day
throughout the country to mark the birth anniversary of Moulana Azad.

The committee also urged the government to strictly implement Prime
Minister's new 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities and
also appealed to the Urdu speaking people of the country to take
strong decision before casting their vote in the next elections on the
basis of steps taken to promote Urdu education, language and
literature. (NSS)
