NML Program Committee
Help Wanted: Administrative Assistant at the National Museum of Language
*Location: *7100 Baltimore Ave, College Park, MD
*Hours:* Approximately 12 hours/week. : Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10 AM – 4
PM. Some flexibility is possible.
*Hourly rate:* $8.00
*Length of term:* February 2, 2010 – June 29, 2010 (with possibility of
continuation depending on funding)
*Deadline for Application:* Applications must be received by January 22,

Interviews will be held January 26, 27, 28

Position Description:*
- Works under the direction of the Museum President, appointed Directors,
and assigned Docents.
- Assists with calls and emails to principals, teachers, and
others soliciting groups to visit the Museum
- Helps to create activities for school-aged visitors
- Organizes materials in the Museum
- Assist docents in explaining exhibits in the Museum
- Communicates with persons calling the Museum and making calls as
requested by Trustees.

***Desired Qualifications*
- Dependable and energetic individual with relevant work experience
- High school graduate; interested in language study
- Proven ability to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule
- Familiarity with computer applications: Word, Excel, and Internet
research
- Pleasant manner with public and outgoing personality
- Two references from previous employers or teachers are required
