Azerbaijan , Baku, June 21/ Trend /

One of the most sensitive issues in Kyrgyzstan is educational language
policy, president for transitional period Roza Otunbayeva stated today
at the regional conference "Promotion of minorities’ rights in Central
Asia - is effective participation in social life", 24.kg reported

According to her, this problem causes contradictory emotional
statements. "Unfortunately, the Kyrgyz language has not get on to feet
yet. In some measure it is in humiliated condition: there are not
enough books and people who want to learn state language confront with
many problems," Roza Otunbayeva said. "Language is a consolidating
unit. We will develop state platform for multilingualism. We should
seek to Kyrgyz become unific language, the language of agreement and
unity."

Upon that the head of the state noted that the situation should not be
politicized. "Parents have the right to choose the future for their
children. But we should know Russian as well. Nobody humiliates and
takes away official language from large national minorities. But I
will stress that we should look at Kyrgyz in a new way," concluded
Roza Otunbayeva.
