Am resending the Call for proposals for Orality and Literacy in the 21st
Century: Prospects for Writing Pedagogy.
This was sent out a ways back to the Ed Linguistics list, so this is a
reminder. Hope you will consider submitting a proposal.

Dear Colleagues,
To clarify. Proposals may still be accepted. Priority is given to those
that made the deadline, as this was sent some time back to the Edling list,
but
we are still accepting proposals for the special issue on Orality and
Literacy in the 21st Century. The abstract, biographic sketch, and outline
describing the potential paper will still be given serious consideration.
You are welcome to still submit a proposal!
Please write to me if you have any questions.
With utmost appreciation for the Edling distribution!

This invitation comes a bit too late, right? It's past the deadline for
submission of proposals!

Lessons From The Language Boot Camp For Mormon Missionaries

On a sunny Wednesday in Provo, Utah, a long line of cars spits out about
300 new arrivals to the Missionary Training Center. The facility, known as
MTC, is the largest language training school for members of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Every year, about 36,000 students come to the center before they leave on
missions around the world to spread the Mormon faith.
