Lx Anthro Teach-in materials on Iraq & war

Colleagues:

The Sonoma State University Academic (Faculty) Senate has passed a
resolution that, among other things, calls for a university
convocation/teach-in on the current war, the history of Iraq & the
US, and relevant issues regarding the whole situation. [OK, this
could make you feel old: I was asked by a student "What's a
teach-in?" But I digress....]

SO, I was wondering if folks could suggest to this list useful
--accessible-- sources from lx anthro angles that address language,
discourse, and war/conflict OR lx anthro (perhaps with ethnographic
elements) sources that illuminate the various peoples involved in
these events. I'm particularly interested in sources that provide
counter-intuitive (at least to typical US lay audiences) insights
reveals through good fieldwork and analysis.
