Audio software?

Hi all,

I think one could use Audacity for this work. It's quite simple and free 
audio editing software. It is possible to add a text containing 
Label-track under the audio tracks for notes. This Label-track can be 
exported, and as a simple text file it can be searched, but also 
imported to other programs (I personally often take them to ELAN as a 
new tier).

In my experience Audacity is a very good program for glancing fast 
through a longer audiofile and making notes while listening to it. One 
has to save the file in Audacity as an Audacity Project file, and the 
large size of those files is one minus I've encountered with it. Edited 
tracks can easily be exported to different formats etc.
