Dear SLA Colleagues and Friends,


The Society for Linguistic Anthropology invites applications to serve as the next President-Elect of the organization.  The President-elect succeeds to the office of President at the expiration of a two-year term. (The President-elect shall also assume the duties of the President in the event of the President's absence, death, resignation or incapacity).  During the President-elect's two year term, duties include service on the SLA Executive Committee.  The President is the presiding officer of the Society, scheduling and conducting the annual SLA Board meeting and SLA Business meeting, and attending the AAA Section Assembly Meeting at the annual AAA meetings.  Throughout the year, the President oversees the timely carrying-out of SLA business, in consultation with the SLA Executive Committee.  The Executive Committee is made up of the President, President-elect, Secretary-treasurer, and two Members-at-Large.
