[Linganth] Tenure-Track position in Medical Anthropology at the University of South Carolina

The faculty of the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Carolina seek a medical anthropologist for a tenure-track assistant professorship beginning August 2018. Geographic region is open, though preference will be given to hire someone whose research and teaching strengthens existing interdisciplinary research in the areas of social inequalities, health disparities, immigration and community development in underserved populations. The new medical anthropologist is expected to maintain an active program of research and demonstrate success in securing extramural funding. This colleague, moreover, will have the opportunity to collaborate on campus-wide health sciences initiatives. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Anthropology at the time of appointment.
The Department of Anthropology is highly committed to both undergraduate and graduate instruction and mentoring, offering programs leading to bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. degrees.
