Hi all,
I am a senior at Palo Alto High School in California and am a member of
the Social Justice Pathway (which you can read about here
<https://www.paly.net/learning/programs-pathways/social-justice-pathway#:~:text=The%20Social%20Justice%20Pathway%20is%20for%20the%20student%20who%20is,force%20and%20everything%20in-between.>).
I am beginning the process of conducting a year-long research capstone
under the mentorship of Alessandro Duranti on the parentally-imposed
neglect of gender pronouns’ impact on the speech and language development
of children.
I am hoping for advice, resources, criticism, and feedback on my
research question from the linguistic anthropology community as I take my
first step into the less-elementary arena of the field.
Because the phenomenon of neglecting to impose gender pronouns within
protoconversation is fairly novel, I have been struggling to find research
that addresses this within the limited resource basis I am able to access
as a high schooler.
Thank you in advance,
Audrey Joachim
