Work in Anthropology: Call for Submissions*

*
Dr. Leila Monaghan's contributions as a linguistic anthropologist and
activist were immeasurable. Her research and writing focused on deaf
sociality, disability justice, equity, and social justice. As a scholar,
her work contributed to disrupting and transforming unjust social
institutions and decolonizing space and discourse. This special issue of
Practicing Anthropology is intended to honor the impact of Leila's work
through articles on the many topics she impacted.
Articles should be 3500-4000 words in general, based on insights from
practice, and written in active voice. They do not need to be heavily
cited or substantially data-driven. Articles should not be written about
Leila, but instead focus on areas that she was passionate about,
including but not limited to:
* Deaf Sociality and Empowerment
* Intercultural Discourse and Communication
* Decolonizing Historical Texts and listening to marginalized voices
* HIV/AIDs and the Deaf Community
* Disability Anthropology
Please send an email to emery.eaves at nau.edu describing your interest in
submitting an article for this special issue.
Send a description of your article by April 1^st and full articles
will be due by July 1^st .
