Hello everyone,
The Symposium on American Indian Languages (SAIL) has officially put out a
call for abstracts for its 2024 edition. Here are the key details you need
to know:
Symposium Details:
Date: April 4-5, 2024
Location: Tucson, Arizona at the University of Arizona
Abstract Submission Deadline: Sunday, December 31, 2023.
The special session for SAIL 2024 focuses on Advancing Indigenous Language
Technology.Additionally, SAIL 2024 welcomes parasessions on *Revitalization,
Documentation, Description, and Theory* that draw upon community-based
participatory research. For more information on the theme, abstract
requirements, and more please visit the official website at SAIL 2024
Website <https://sites.google.com/view/sail2024/call-for-abstracts>.
I believe that this symposium presents a tremendous opportunity for those
who are involved in and/or interested in becoming involved with Indigenous
language work. It is especially advantageous for graduate students in
Linguistic Anthropology who want to submit and give a talk about their
work.
I encourage you to spread the word and consider submitting an abstract to
share your knowledge and expertise in the field of Indigenous languages and
be in relation with those who are doing similar work.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider being a part of SAIL
2024.
Best,
Koodéik' (Joseph Marks)
