[Linganth] Pre-register for LANSI 2025!

Dear 2025 LANSI Presenters:

We are writing to provide a few details regarding the upcoming 13th 
LANSI Meeting (October 10-11) that might be of help as you prepare for 
the conference:

(1) All presentations will be taking place in one large room equipped 
with media (computer, projector, speakers, and internet). To minimize 
complications, we encourage you to bring your talk with all its 
attending video/audio files saved into *one folder on your flashdrive*. 
If you feel more comfortable bringing your own laptop, however, we can 
accommodate both PCs and Macs. Please be sure to bring any necessary 
adapters to connect your laptop via HDMI.

(2) We are capping conference attendance at 100. If you are planning on 
using handouts, we would suggest making around *40 copies* since it is 
unlikely that all attendees are present at all sessions, and there is 
always the possibility of sharing.

(3) To maximize our opportunities for productive dialogs, each talk is 
scheduled within a *10-minute slot *followed by a *10-minute 
discussion*, with 5 minutes in between to facilitate transitioning. To 
stay within the timeframe, we strongly recommend that you *structure 
your talk around your analysis and findings after a brief description of 
your data*, and leave other elements of your study up for the ensuing 
discussion time should they become of interest to the audience. Our 
session chairs will hold up signs that say “2 minutes,” “1 minute,” and 
“Stop” as you approach the 10-minute mark. We take our 10-10 format very 
seriously. 😊

(4) We would like to ask that all presenters *register* for the 
conference at the latest by *September 25*, the pre-registration

(6) You will be required to show a valid government issued *photo ID* 
for campus access. Face masks are currently optional at Teachers College.

(7) There will be *photographers* on both days of the conference, and we 
also encourage participants to use social media platforms to post 
content related to the conference. If you would like to opt out of 
having your photos taken or having your image or name posted on social 
media, please let us know or notify the photographers during the 
conference.
