[Linganth] New book on global health!

I’d like to share that my new book is out, Global Health in the Global North: Techno-Optimism and the Value of Storytelling for the Future of Health Equity ( www.routledge.com/9781032910284 ). The book, which is based on fieldwork primarily in the Atlanta metropolitan region (home of CDC), examines how the value systems (epistemic, ethical, and economic) of global health are (re)constituted through storytelling (through emplotment, multimodal poetics, and story circulation). This includes a chapter on COVID-vaccine stories (those of public health officials and vaccine skeptics) that is unfortunately timely and relevant right now. The book is situated at the intersection of the fields of linguistic anthropology, medical anthropology, and global health.
