Actually many Australian languages have these, e.g. kayardild,
Dyirbal. In some ergative Australian languages they must agree in
transitivity with any main verb also present in the clause - see
Dixon 1972:49-58 for an example. In my recent article on Word Classes
in the HSK morphology volume I (briefly) discuss the way both
ignorative and demonstrative classes cross-cut the major word-class
