Linguistics, for which we are seeking applications by May 5th. See

New position in Linguistics at University of Melbourne
The Department of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, University of
Melbourne, is calling for applications for a new Lecturer Level B
position (50% fraction)  specializing in syntax and morphology, with
orientation both to the description of little-known languages and to
theoretical questions in the field.

Position summary:

The Lecturer, reporting to the Head of Department, contributes to the
success and continuing future growth of the Department of Linguistics
and Applied Linguistics through distinction in teaching, carrying out
and supervising research in syntax and morphology, and various
administrative roles.

In particular, this position is aimed at regenerating and advancing
the teaching of theoretical approaches to syntax and morphology, in
line with the Department's commitment to an understanding of the
little-studied languages of Australia and the region. The appointee
will specialise in current research on syntax and morphology, with a
proven record of bringing current theoretical advances in syntax and
morphology to the description and analysis of little-known languages,
with a preference for experience or future research interests in the
languages of Australia and/or its region. In addition, s/he will have
the background to contribute more generally to undergraduate
first-year teaching and more advanced courses such as Field
Linguistics, Languages of the World, Semantics, and Historical
Linguistics.

S/he will contribute to teaching across the Department's programs, at
undergraduate, masters and PhD level, will be active in supervising
honours and postgraduate research in the above fields, will have an
outstanding record of publication in the above fields, and a
demonstrated ability to attract competitive research funding and
initiate new research projects.
The appointee may be involved in the development and teaching of new
subjects, will work as a team member within the Department,
undertaking appropriate administration at the direction of the head
of department, and will be involved in developing collaborative links
outside the Department.

The position will be initially available as a fractional 0.5 appointment.
