The expression "j'entends bien!", meaning "I do understand", is no more 
ordinary language - and mostly reserved to a context of intention : 
"Vous ne vous en tirerez pas comme ça, j'entends bien (= j'ai bien 
l'intention de) prendre ma revanche!".
