Just one of the many exmaples from other regions:

The Turkish -sA-Condional and -TI-Past seem to be based on a possessive strategy with SAPs except for the obscure 1PL (< *incl. dual ?), confer:

	POSS	-sa (COND)	-TI (PAST)
	'book'	'undestand'	'understand'
1sg kitab-ım	anla-sa-m anla-dı-m
2sg	kitab-ın	anla-sa-n anla-dı-n
1pl	kitab-ımız	[anla-sa-k	anla-dı-k]
2pl	kitab-ınız	anla-sa-nız	anla-dı-nız

The other tense/mood paradigms are based on a copula construction.
Nothing new, I know, but nevetheless.....

Best,
Wolfgang
