[Lingtyp] R: predicative possession

Dear Sergey et al
Australian languages generally use a "Proprietive" (also called "Comitative" or "having") suffix in a verbless clause to express possession.
This is typically matched by a "Privative"/"not having" suffix for to opposite meaning.
The form is discussed and exemplified in a section of :R.M.W. Dixon (ed.), Grammatical categories in Australian languages. Canberra: Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies.
To my knowledge there is not a lot of information on the origin of Proprietive suffixes.
Best wishes
Harold
