[Lingtyp] Intuitions about inclusive time reference

Dear all,

As a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese, I agree with the Riccardo's 
example, but I could also say, in a more colloquial way:

A Maria ficou de submeter.

The form "ficar de + infinitive" indicates the intention to do 
something. So, by using it in the past tense, I express that Maria had 
the intention to submit but that I don't know at all if she did it or 
not.
