I was specifically asking about similar developments in other language varieties -- that's why I came to LINGTYP -- so your Italian examples are most welcome.
And now I should add *English*, in the development of the (still nonstandard) "because NOUN" construction (a use of the subordinator "because" as a preposition ("We had to go the long way around, because bridge accidents"), whose recent development (apparently from a sarcastic usage) was been fairly carefully traced in a Grammar Girl (Mignon Fogarty) podcast/column by Neal Whitman.
