CALL FOR PAPERS:
Workshop on 'Atomism' & Binding,
Holland Institute of Generative Linguistics (HIL)

The Holland Institute of Generative Linguistics (HIL) is organizing a
workshop on Atomism and Binding from 15 to 17 February 1996, the
preliminary program of which can be found below. Most participants in
the workshop are invited speakers. We have nevertheless reserved a small
number of time slots (5) for speakers selected on the basis of anonymous
abstracts by a Selection Committee, in order to ensure that most areas of
interest would be covered.
Although we cannot ensure at this point the reimbursement of travel
expenses for selected speakers, we will make sure that hotel
accommodation will be covered.

The conference focuses on the nature of Binding and its interaction with
several areas of the Grammar. The conference will address at least three
major domains of inquiry: the interaction between Binding and the
different levels (e.g. LF, PF), the interaction of Binding with other theories
(e.g. theta-theory), and the coverage of empirical domains that have been
rarely studied from a generative perspective, such as the problem of the
interaction of Binding with propositional attitudes.

Five copies of an anonymous one-page abstract with a card indicating the
author's full address should be sent to:

Workshop on Atomism and Binding
Leiden University, Holland Institute of Generative Linguistics,
P.O. Box 9515, 2300 RA Leiden,
The Netherlands.

Deadline for submission: October 30, 1995.
