EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR A ONE-YEAR POSITION IN SPANISH LINGUISTICS
AT THE DEPARTMENT OF SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE, THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
One-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish, with
specialization in syntax, to teach a total of five graduate and
undergraduate courses in Hispanic linguistics and advanced Spanish
language. Ph. D. required by time of appointment. Candidates with
corresponding active research program and publications strongly
preferred.
Native or near-native Spanish language skills required. Salary
commensurate with experience; benefits competitive. For full

Hello, everyone!
I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass this info to those who
may be interested in teaching Japanese at the U of Michigan starting
this fall for a year. This is a full time lecturer position.

Department of Asian Languages and Cultures
seeks Candidates for
Japanese Language Lecturer
The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invites applications
for a temporary one-year lecturer position in Japanese language
beginning September 1, 1996. Native or near-native fluency in
Japanese and excellent command of English are required. Preference is
given to applicants with an M.A. Degree or higher in Linguistics,
Foreign Language Education, or TESOL, and with experience at the
college level teaching Japanese to English-speaking students using
various teaching techniques. Candidates with experience teaching at a
variety of levels and with knowledge of Proficiency-Oriented
Instruction are especially welcomed, as are those with ability or
experience in CAI or computer programming.
We seek energetic, collaborative candidates with innovative
ideas about teaching language in a large university setting.
Finalists will be asked to send a video tape of actual classroom
teaching. Interested candidates should send a letter of application,
CV, and three letters of recommendation no later than May 20th to:
