Research Fellowship (Up To Two Years) in Communication Studies
 
to collaborate in an established research project and to contribute
(a small amount) to teaching communication studies.
 
Applicants should:
 
- be familiar with recent developments in pragmatics, especially
  Relevance Theory.
 
- have an understanding of research methodologies in linguistics and
  psycholinguistics.
 
Experience in setting up and running psycholinguistic experiments
is also desirable.
 
Salary range: 15,077-19.439 pounds sterling.
Maximum starting salary: 16,531 pounds sterling.

Kobe City University of Foreign Studies now invites applications
for a full-time instructor or assistant professor under the following
conditions.
 
1.  The applicant's field of specialization should be linguistic
studies of English.
 
2.  The applicant's first language should be English.  The successful
applicant will teach practical English (oral English, writing etc.) to
English majors in both daytime and evening classes.
 
3.  The successful applicant will be employed as a language teaching
faculty member (instructor or assistant professor).
 
4.  Required academic degree is M.A. or Ph. D.
 
5.  The applicant's age should be 45 or under at the time of
employment (the first of April, 1997).

The Department of Asian Languages and Literatures invites
applications for a one-year three-quarter-time Instructorship in
Japanese language starting in September 1996.  Preference
will be given to candidates with MA or higher in Japanese or Foreign
Language Education, experiences in proficiency-oriented
language instruction, native speaker level competency in Japanese
