Forthcoming lecture:
 
   Date: Thursday 31 October 1996, 6.30 pm.
  Venue: Room 331, King's College, The Strand, London WC2.
 
Details: The meeting will begin with the Natural Language Translation
Specialist Group's annual general meeting.  This should not last
longer than about ten minutes.  It will be followed by a lecture:
 
        Dr. Ruslan Mitkov, from the School of Languages,
           University of Wolverhampton, will speak on
 
               "Machine Translation and Anaphora"

Entrance is free and all are welcome.
 
It is a custom of our group that after a lecture, members of the
audience, Group members and the speaker adjourn to a nearby restaurant
for a meal to continue discussing machine translation and linguistic
matters in general and the speaker's subject in particular. You will
be very welcome to join but you will be asked to pay for your meal; a
main course together with a glass of wine might cost from eight
pounds.
