Hello all, I was wondering does anyone know whether anything has been
written on the subject of advertising in East Germany / the reception
of Western advertising in the East, particularly with regard to
biblical or proverbial references, which would most likely be foreign
to Easterners? Thanks, Anne Barron

Dear helpful linguists: We ordered the two books below for our library
and were told they were unavailable. One was published last year! Does
anyone have an "extra" copy they could exchange with us, or
information where we could get ahold of them (permanent library
copies)?
Lakoff, Robin T. (1989) Language and Woman's Place. Harper Torch
Books: New York. ISBN 0-06-132093-5
Lakoff, Robin Tolmach (1995) When Talk Is Not Cheap. ?Mandy Astel?
Maybe we could trade you a copy of the new Finnish Grammar?
Thanks, kela

Dear Linguists,
is there a way to use greek alphabet on the web (just few words of
example inside an italian text) other than coverting greek words in GIF
images in HTML files?
Thank you
