Applications are invited for the post of LECTURER IN APPLIED
LINGUISTICS/ELT UNIVERSITY OF ESSEX, Dept of Language and Linguistics
Two year fixed term; continued funding is dependent on the department
recruiting sufficient students. Salary !15,154-!19,848 Teaching
involves 8-10 hours per week, particularly at graduatelevel, and
supervision of MA and Ph.D. students. Requirements: evidence of a
developing research profile and the potential for continuing researh
excellnce. Any area of specialism in Applied Linguistics/ELT will be

Assistant Professor Linguistics/Spanish Linguistics. Tenure
track. Ph.D. in hand by August 1997. Teach introductory and advanced
courses in Linguistics (in English) and Spanish Linguistics (in
Spanish) at BA and MA levels. Native/near-native proficiency in both
instructional languages required. Salary competitive. Send cover
