      sponsored by the Association for Computational Linguistics

ANLP 97, the fifth conference on Applied Natural Language Processing,
will include:

* a day of tutorials on March 31st
  (on language generation, information extraction, spoken language
   interfaces, and trainable systems for text tagging)
* three days of technical sessions, April 1 - 3, including sessions on
  - spoken language and dialog
  - computer-assisted language learning
  - grammar checking
  - information retrieval and summarization
  - information extraction
  - text generation
  - multilingual systems
  - lexicon acquisition from corpora
  - parsing and morphology
  - architectures for document management
* demonstrations of applications and research systems
* a workshop following the conference, April 4 and 5, on
  tagging corpora with lexical semantic information
