Conference objectives:
To discuss issues concerning the identity of the peoples of Asia in
relation to a borderless world;
To identify and discuss the role and development of language in Asia;
To assess and celebrate the literary achievements of Asian writers;
To explore issues concerning intercultural communication and
understanding; and
To discuss pedagogical implications arising from a borderless world.

Submission of abstracts: March 15, 1998
Notification of acceptance: May 15, 1998
Early Registration: May 31, 1998
Cancellation of registration
Cancellation made in writing before August 31, 1998 will be entitled to a
50% refund. Late cancellation will not be eligible for a refund.

Early registration fee is RM400 (31 May 1998). Late fee is RM450.

The Conference is being held immediately after the Commonwealth Games. So
this would be an ideal time to visit Malaysia, especially with the good
