We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Subject: Non-coronals Deletion before Affixes
I am currently working on the grammar of a language (Dhaasanac, East
Cushitic; Ethiopia) which has a rule deleting non-coronals before ALL
affixes. E.g., in verbs, non-coronals are allowed in the imperative
singular positive (i.e., the bare stem), but are dropped in all other
paradigm forms. Does anyone know of other languages displaying a
similar rule?
Thanks,
Mauro Tosco

Subject: Nonconventional Approaches
I have recently received the following request for information from
the International Centre for Pedagogical Studies. Can anybody help?
If so, please reply to Jean-Marc CARE <poletti at ciep.fr>, copying to
the list if appropriate.

I'm trying to get a hold of a copy of video done by Gumperz in the
1970s I believe. The title of it is "Crosstalk." Does anyone have
information as to how I can obtain a copy of this video?
Thanks in advance,
Laura Hartley
