Subject: Reader in Linguistics, University of Ulster
Subject to final approval, the University of Ulster will shortly be
seeking to appoint a senior level position in Linguistics in the
School of Psychology and Communication, at the Jordanstown Campus. The
post will be at Reader level (equivalent to a research-oriented
Associate Professor in the USA), with an expected starting date of
September/October 2000, or possibly earlier. We welcome expressions of
interest at this time from scholars with publications of international
standing and preferably experience in obtaining grants. Those working
in any area of linguistics are welcome to contact us, and especially
those with an interest in theoretical linguistics.
You would be joining a research-active team, consisting of two
professors, a senior lecturer, and two lecturers, plus part-time staff
and graduate teaching assistants. Current expertise of staff includes:
theoretical syntax, phonetics and phonology, semantics and pragmatics,
sociolinguistics, child language, clinical linguistics and minority
language issues. The salary for a Reader is Stg£31,563-£35,670 (plus
discretionary points to Stg£38,561) per annum.

ESL INSTRUCTOR
ESL instructor wanted to teach groups of students in manufacturing
environment in Franklin, Mass. for 10-12 week course with hgh likelihood
of continuing work available. Pleasant, supportive environment, highly
motivated students grouped according to skill level. 4-8 hours per week
over 2 mornings and afternoons (schedule to be arranged); $40.00 per
hour; transportation reimbursement.
Instructor must be capable, highly enthusiastice, well-organized and
