Subject: French tagging software
On 20 April I submitted a posting asking for details of where I could
obtain part-of-speech tagging software for French. My thanks go to
the following for their kind replies:
Piet Mertens
Shane O'Driscoll
Richard Waltereit
Steven Bird
I haven't checked any of these web sites thoroughly yet, so I will
merely list the ones I was given without any recommendation.
Software for French and German tagging is available from the
following site:
http://www.ims.uni-stuttgart.de/Tools/DecisionTreeTagger.html
There are also a lot of links from the following site:
http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~barlow/corpus.html
A French part-of-speech tagger is available at:
http://www.xrce.xerox.com/research/mltt/Tools/pos.html
where you can submit text in several languages, including French,
and have it tagged free. Apparently you can also purchase it from
Xerox company.
A list of phonology tools is available at:
http://www.cogsci.ed.ac.uk/sigphon
Finally, there is:
