Methods in Sociolinguistics: A Conference in Honor of Ronald Macaulay
November 12-14, 1999
Pitzer College, Claremont, CA

Gillian Sankoff, Lesley Milroy, Don Brenneis, Barbara Johnstone, Walt
Wolfram; Nov. 13: Bill Labov, Elinor Ochs, Alessandro Duranti, Guy
Bailey, Natalie Schilling-Estes, Edward Finegan, Dennis Preston;
Ronald Macaulay; Nov. 14: John Baugh, Penny Eckert, John Rickford.
Registration is free, but please register in advance by e-mail to
sociolxconf at pomona.edu or by phone at 909-607-4535, so we can provide
enough space and send you a parking permit. Please tell us your name,
address, e-mail, and which days of the conference you plan to

Banquet: There will be a banquet at 6:30 on Saturday night, at which
Ronald Macaulay will be giving the keynote address. The fee for the
banquet is $15, and you must register in advance. Checks should be
made out to Pitzer College, and mailed to the registration address
before November 3.
Accommodations: The most convenient hotel in the area is the Claremont
Inn, (800) 854-5733. They have a special rate and rooms set aside for
the conference, so mention it when you make the reservation.
