Helen Kelly-Holmes is a lecturer in German in the School of Languages
and European Studies, Aston University, Birmingham. Her main research
interests include intercultural aspects of market and media discourses
(in particular advertising) and how these relate to identities and
perceptions of identities.

Kay Richardson is Senior Lecturer in the School of Politics and
Communication Studies. She is co-author of Nuclear Reactions, a book
about TV coverage of the nuclear power debate and has produced many
journal articles and book contributions in media studies (including
audience research) and discourse analysis.

Ulrike Hanna Meinhof holds the Chair of Cultural Studies at the
University of Bradford. Recent publications include Language Learning
in the Age of Satellite Television (OUP 1998) and a co-authored book
with Kay Richardson Worlds in Common? Television in a Changing Europe
(Routledge 1999).
