2. Position Requirements: Applicants should be specialists in teaching
English as a foreign language (EFL) to college-level students.

3. Qualifications:
a) Doctoral degree - prefer recent graduates. (Humanities, education,
English, TESOL, languages [theoretical or applied studies], or other
related fields)
b) A strong desire to live and work in Taiwan. (Kaosiung area is the
second most populated area of Taiwan)
c) Native speaker of English, or possessing language ability equivalent
to native speakers. (Desire to expose students to English in all
situations)
d) Ability and desire to do research and/or commercial publishing.
e) Desire to work as a team to help in curricular, administrative and
other departmental related tasks. (Each faculty member is expected to
contribute in one of several areas)
f) Ideals and enthusiasm for teaching.
g) In addition to professional TESOL skills, those who have other
specialties (e.g., can teach various content level classes) are
preferred.

4. Deadline: Applications must be received by September 30, 2000 or
March 1, 2001

5. Appointments: to begin on February 1, 2001 or August 1, 2001.
